I thought I'd do this post as I have just had my results day which thankfully was successful, so I felt it would be helpful to share a list of things I have done or have got to do prior to going to University.
UN.
Accommodation - This is definitely a priority for me as I would prefer to have a room with an en-suite, not because im a prude but due to the fact that I am a hygiene freak! I am currently still in the process of sorting this out, but hopefully I will be allocated a room which suits my needs.
DEUX.
Basic Essentials - These are items which will be necessary when moving out such as cutlery, pans, cups, etc. Basically things you take for granted at home! Along with all your stuff like clothes, shoes, make-up and other necessities.
TROIS.
Clear Out - So this is the time to have a wardrobe cleanse, meaning getting rid of all your unwanted clothing that just collect dust. This is also a way of making some extra cash, as I have been doing myself by selling items on places such as the infamous Depop and eBay. Another way which I use to de-clutter my wardrobe, is by taking clothes to charity shops, it makes me feel like im doing something to help others, even if it means donating second-hand clothes.
QUATRE.
Course + City Research - I think this is the most important suggestion as its good to get to some background and basic knowledge before entering your course. Personally this makes me more excited for the real thing and you just get to know your course specification. Also I think research on the city or place you will be moving to, is wise as you are moving to a new surrounding, it will benefit you by finding out where your local supermarkets, shopping centre and of course nightlife are. This just saves feeling lost when you get there, as you will have some sort of guide.
CINQ.
Make Memories - This is the best thing to do if you feel homesick and you are moving long distance. By taking photographs of your nearest and dearest, you can create a collage or album which you can take with you, acting as a comfort blanket.
Thanks for reading & hope this helps,
Kiana
