Staycation: Holiday in Bude, Cornwall.

For our holiday this year we went to Bude Cornwall we've been going for a good number of years and we take the dog and rented a holiday home in Widemouth Bay Holiday Village which has a pub, pool and shop (and take away/ restaurant which is open during the summer holidays). The six hour drive is worth it for the views and beaches, despite  Misty (the dog) being annoying and not sitting still. Rather than going abroad this year we decided to have a staycation which works out a lot cheaper. We were lucky and it was sunny (heat wave) for most of the week. Who said you can't get a good tan in England? So here's what we got up to.

Warning: This is a very picture heavy post.

For the first two days it was scorching so we spent time as Black Rock beach in Widemouth bay (Dogs are allowed) and just walked up and down the beach. They tried to get me to swim in the see, which I did reluctantly because I'm terrified of jellyfish and they were everywhere. We searched rock pools and tried to make my dog swim (because she hates water).

The holiday home we stayed at and the holiday village:

                                                          The living room
The pool (we spent nearly everyday in)
                                                              The kitchen
                                                              The site itself

Day #3 Trip to Boscastle:
Boscastle flooded a few years ago really badly whilst we were staying in Bude and we've visited before and after the flood. It's a lovely little town in the middle of a V shaped valley with a little harbour and some very nice trinket and rock shops (where I oggle at rings and my boyfriend gave me my promise ring here).

Padstow where Rick Stein (the chef) lives and has many resteraunts. We had his fish and chips there, well I had a hallumi burger and chips very yummy.

We visited Bude town centre a lot and here are some images of the town it's canal beach and sea salt pool on the beach.

And here are a few snaps from Tintagel. Another little town with a Castle (supposedly with affiliation with King Arthur and Merlin's Cave).

And a cornish pasty the size of your head.

Thanks to my mum and dad for taking us and us having a fab time and thanks for the good weather,
Cheers for reading,
