V Festival 2015

So me and my boyfriend attended V festival at Weston Park, and camped. We caught the Big Green Coach down there which took a long time and the coach was 1 hour late and then couldn't fit everyone on it. We were the last two that managed to get on. So that was a bit of a faff and we got there that late that it was hard to find a place to pitch our tent which made me pull this face a lot.

We managed to find somewhere after a while of carting our stuff and lots of moaning on my behalf. We settled down and got a pretty good spot, got the tent up unpacked some stuff, had our tea and then went for a wander round the arena. We got free brews from the PG Tips tent (they did green tea yay). Nothing adventurous then went back to the tent to just sit in the chairs and drink and chill. We drank JD & Coke from a can and copious amounts of cider.

First festival day we woke up and I had my breakfast of tinned beans and sausage (cold). We weren't allowed camping stoves. Then sat and drank and had our dinner of brioche buns and chorizo sausage and ready cooked bacon and headed to the arena. Here are the acts we managed to see. There was a lot of thunder and lightening this night so bad they had to stop the Ferris wheel.

Scouting for girls a good oldie. Played crowd pleasers and some of their new stuff.

Ella Eyre was fab, she had the whole crowd jumping as she sang her hits she's featured with DJ Fresh,  Rudimental and Sigma. We knew all the words to the hits she sang off of her album as well. She had such a good stage presence and knew how to work all of the stage.
We sat back and enjoyed George Ezra from the back. He was brilliant.

We got pretty close for Kodaline, loved the chilled vibes from this crowd and their set.

Jessie Ware was pulling at my heart strings with her amazing vocal performance.

Paloma looked fantastic, had a lot of stuff going on with all her instrument players. The bass was too loud and it ruined the performance. I'm sure she sounded amazing but with just the bass you couldn't hear her as she talked inbetween songs never mind sang. We left after a couple of songs.
The guy I was most excited for Calvin Harris. I'm a huge fan of EDM and his I have all of his albums, love his music and the ladies he's dated. This set was disappointing. I'm all for show casing other talent and other DJ's but he barely played his own material and when he did eventually play How Deep is Your Love it was a remix by R3hab.

We moved on from Calvin just before he finished to check out Helden's who kept teasing Gecko.

Day 2: It rained a lot so I sported my waterproof jacket and a poncho as seen on my OOTD post. Tinned beans and sausage for breakfast and some cracker breads and brioche sausage and bacon for dinner. As well as sweets and snacks, I snuck crisp and raisins into the arena in my bra (yay warm smushed crisp).

 James Bay incredible voice live.

Jess Glynne fantastic voice little bit shy on stage but played her hits and some of her new material from her album.
We managed to catch the last of Mark Ronson who produced Up Town Funk, he played some good songs but his MC's were so annoying. Pet peeve is when DJ's have MC's just do the talking yourself instead pleaseeee.

Then came Hozier who was fantastic and turned my boyfriend from a skeptic to a firm fan by the end of his set.

We then saw the man I'd been waiting for. Sam Smith he had the whole crowd laughing and crying. I cried to Latch which is the happiest song on the bloody album. Also before this set I went to the portaloo for a wee and these girls stopped me from getting back to my boyfriend saying they weren't letting me past because I was shoving to the front. Me having anxiety I went into panic mode and kept saying I'm finding my boyfriend please let me past whilst frantically looking for his head over the crowd. I spotted him not too far and kept shouting Mat till he heard me then the bitches let me through. I said don't call me a bloody liar and stood on one of their feet with my muddy wellies. I thought us women were supposed to stick together. Especially, in a festival crowd we're supposed to look out for one another. Not be inconsiderate dicks. Sam made up for that though.

We then managed to catch the last of Tom Jones and some of Olly Murs and Kasabian. I got really bad belly ache (probably from the cider) and we left a little early to get back to the tent and sleep before the coach home on Monday.

I got very muddy and also got a tan when it wasn't raining it was extremely sunny. It was an amazing experience and I'll definitly be going back next year. Hopefully, with more friends in tow. But I'd go back with just my boyfriend again no fighting over set times and who we'd be seeing.

Thanks for reading,
