E.L.F. Cosmetics First Impressions Review

This particular brand has been on my wish-list for some time now, as all the major YouTubers and bloggers compliment its quality. Eyes Lips Face was originally founded in New York, but has since proved popular widespread, and now the UK finally has a website! Following this discovery I instinctively had to make an order, as they aim to provide you high quality cosmetics at a low cost. This definitely proved to be the case as I purchased 8 items for only £21, you’re probably thinking that’s expensive, but if you compared the price to other competing brands such as MAC, I guarantee it would be double the price. Let’s proceed onto the review…

100 Piece Marble Eyeshadow Palette│£5.00

As my first ever eyeshadow palette I have to say I’m highly impressed. My first thoughts when I received this were regarding the established packaging, it features a simple black and opaque design, which seems to be its unique selling point. I love how it contains a variety of 100 different shades, which let me tell you are very pigmented. It also features a mirror on the inside which is useful when obviously applying the makeup. Overall I believe this was a wise purchase as it stores all the eyeshadows I need in one place, and I also found it to be quite inexpensive when considering its high quality.

 Eyelid Primer£1.95

I had high expectations of this product as it is highly raved about, it definitely lived up to its reputation as it allowed my eye makeup to stay on for hours. I'm very impressed by the product as you only need a small amount. The packaging is again very simple and reflects the shade which I bought it in, Champagne.

 Liquid Eyeliner£0.98

I believe that this is the most talked about ELF product among the YouTube/Blogger society, from purchasing it I can see why. At the moment it’s the best liquid eyeliner I have used, and it even beats my L’oreal Super Liner. Not only is it a fraction of the price but I feel it does it better job, this is mainly due to its dainty nib and its overall staying power. I have used this product a number of times since I received it, and I have only positive things to say regarding its use.

Baked Blush£1.98

This again is another highly pigmented product, it has speckles of bronze within the peachy colour, which leaves a glowy finish when applied to the cheeks. It’s definitely an inexpensive yet high quality item.

                            Long Wear Lip Liner│£1.95

When I saw this on the website, I instantly had to buy it. As it is called Spice I thought it would be a great dupe for the MAC version. This is a product which I have been constantly reaching for if I want a ‘my lips but better’ look. Also it does live up to its name as it is very long-lasting which is amazing when considering the price.

All Over Colour Stick£1.95

Although I have only used this on my cheeks, I already know it’s not my cup of tea. I find it to be quite creamy for a blush, and that combined with my oily skin is a definite no-no. The descriptions labels it as a multi-use product as it can be used on the eyes, lips and cheeks, however I can only see me using the as a lipstick.

Angled Contour Brush£3.95

I’ve not yet used this but I believe it will be a great tool to add to my brush collection. As it is angled, I would use it to contour the hollows of my cheeks.

Stipple Brush£3.95

I've wanted this for such a long time! I use this to apply my foundation to give an even base. The bristles are so soft and I cannot fault it, another bargain!

Hope this review helps if you are considering purchasing anything from E.L.F. Cosmetics, I would definitely recommend doing so as the products do live up to their high standard.

Many thanks for reading,
Kiana
