Bolton Food and Drink Festival

With festival season being in full swing with Leeds and Creamfields being last weekend as well as Bolton food and drink festival. Although I'd have rather been raving or mosh pitting in a field. I attended the food and drink festival which was held in the town centre and free of charge. The only thing you paid for was obviously food and drink, or tickets to go and view demonstrations with celebrity chefs.

My parents heard an advertisement for it on the radio and thought it would be a good day out which it proved to be. It runs from the 22nd to the 25th of August. With free parking on the octagon car park during weekends it proves to be a good cheap day out. With family friends or would even make for an interesting date if you're both food or drink lovers. With bars playing live music from local musicians (if you're legal to drink that is).

I went with my parents on the Saturday the 23rd of August, all I can say is it was great to see so many people turn out lining the streets whilst queuing for food and drink it was a new experience and something I'd love to do again. My parents are huge fans of cooking shows particularly master chef. After looking on the website I'd like to book them in for tickets to see a live demonstration with a celeb chef next year.

Theres a variety of food from around the world, you name it there was a stall there selling it, featuring local traders. We had some churros which were devoured so quickly I couldn't get a picture of them. My dad being the most adventurous and meat lover opted for one of the "alternative meats" choosing a buffalo burger. Not my kind of thing but he said it was great and definitley different to your usual bog standard cow.

My favourite part was by far the cider stall selling cider slushes ( as seen below). Made me even more of a cider lover. Only thing was after I'd had this I had a pint of vimto cider and my knees went weak. I clearly need practice for my freshers week again.

We shared a "Chipstix" with bbq flavouring it was delicious, like chips and crisps mixed together just perfection on a stick really.
I finished on the paella which had vegetables and great flavourings that made my taste buds tingle. Like a citrus yet kind of spicy mix of flavours was very different to the usual.

Over all a great day with some yummy food and drink,
Thanks for reading.
